Why Classical? How I fell through the looking glass of the Classical World
It all began as a student of architecture and design and a fascination with a Fable: Vitruvius’ Maiden of Corinth and the origin of Corinthian Order (capital). It was my secret rebellion to investigate the Orders (columns) of Ancient Greece to spite my anti-ornamental education in design and architecture and reject the Manifesto of Adolph Loos who believed that good architecture must be stripped of ornament: enter Modernism. Along the course, we stripped our curriculums and our environment of beauty, philosophy and humanism—the delight of learning and the joy of living.
