The Burden of the Good Communist

Communists have had time to improve their craftiness. In the beginning they concealed nothing—violence was their introduction. Today they are your local librarian, guiding you with a smile to the Marxist section skimming over Plato. They are the feminist moms dressing their daughters in power girl t-shirts and rainbow leggings, the collective farmer’s market down the street passing out “down with Capitalism” flyers with sparkly crayons to share with your kids. They are the school teachers so kind and tolerant who use the words “fair” and “equal” religiously. They are the dutiful citizens, who adore the State and quietly, responsibly turn you in when you get out of line.
